Past Projects
- SCADDS
(1998-2002). SCADDS was a DARPA project at
USC/ISI, funded within the SensIT
program. This program funded the early work on "Tags", as well as a
20 node PC-104 based testbed.
- Open "Tag" Platform (1998-2001). This
project was intended to produce an open hardware platform for
low-power wireless applications, with a low enough unit cost to be
deployed in high densities. The design was oriented toward a system
of independent microcontroller-based modules that could be
independently powered, rather than a single controller that does
everything. However, work on this was suspended in favor of moving to
the Berkeley Mote as that platform gained momentum.
- SCOWR
(1999-). SCOWR is an NSF-funded project to explore multihop wireless
coordination within the context of autonomous robotics.
- SHM (2000-2003). SHM was a DARPA program intended to
develop a autonomously reconfiguring, intelligent minefield. The final
demonstration of this project deployed 100 Linux-class nodes in a 200x50m
outdoor field.
